Metabolic & Incretin

Ultratrutide

Also known as · Next-generation triple agonist

Overview

A newer multi-receptor incretin built on the retatrutide template, discussed for weight reduction with comparatively greater preservation of lean mass. Human trial data are not yet published in peer-reviewed form.

Research profile · for clinicians

Based on research: the newest entrant in the triple-agonist class. Interest centres on the ratio of fat-mass to lean-mass loss, an acknowledged limitation of earlier incretins.

Mechanism of action

Simultaneous agonism of GLP-1, GIP, and glucagon receptors — the incretin arms suppress intake and improve insulin sensitivity while glucagon-receptor activity raises energy expenditure.

Research record
