Based on research: the C-terminal fragment of α-MSH, isolated specifically for its anti-inflammatory activity. Preclinical models of colitis, mast-cell activation, and inflammatory skin conditions report reduced NF-κB signaling and lower pro-inflammatory cytokine output.
Mechanism of action
Inhibits NF-κB signaling and reduces pro-inflammatory cytokine release (TNF-α, IL-1β) in epithelial and immune cells; melanocortin-receptor-independent intracellular activity has been reported.
