Overview
A small, orally available NNMT inhibitor studied for increasing intracellular NAD+ in adipose tissue and reducing fat-cell size in obese rodent models. Non-peptidic, included for completeness of the metabolic-longevity class.

Based on research: preclinical only. Mouse studies report reduced adipocyte size and body weight without changed food intake, via a salvage-pathway increase in NAD+.
Mechanism of action
Inhibits NNMT, the enzyme that methylates nicotinamide for excretion, conserving nicotinamide for the NAD+ salvage pathway and raising intracellular NAD+ in white adipose tissue.
