Overview
A synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a protective protein found in gastric juice. Extensively studied in rodent models for its angiogenic, cytoprotective, and tendon/ligament repair properties.

Preclinical work centers on tendon, ligament, muscle, and gut-lining healing — the underlying signals investigated include new blood-vessel formation (angiogenesis), nitric-oxide balance, and fibroblast migration into damaged tissue. Mechanism of action
Preclinical evidence suggests upregulation of VEGFR2 expression and nitric-oxide–mediated vasodilation. Promotes early outgrowth of tendon fibroblasts and modulates the dopaminergic and serotonergic systems in animal models.
