IGF-1 LR3

Also known as · Long-R3-IGF-1

Overview

An engineered IGF-1 analogue with reduced binding affinity to IGF-binding proteins, producing prolonged systemic activity. Widely used in cell-culture research; not approved for therapeutic use.

Research profile · for clinicians

Based on research: an engineered IGF-1 analogue with reduced binding to IGF-binding proteins, giving prolonged systemic activity. Widely used as a cell-culture growth supplement and studied preclinically for skeletal-muscle hypertrophy and satellite-cell activation.

Mechanism of action

Direct agonism at the IGF-1 receptor activates PI3K/Akt and MAPK pathways driving cellular proliferation and protein synthesis; reduced IGFBP sequestration extends circulating activity.
