Overview
An eight-amino-acid fragment of activity-dependent neuroprotective protein that stabilises microtubules, taken through a large Phase 3 trial in progressive supranuclear palsy.

Based on research: unusually well tested for a neuropeptide — and instructive, because the Phase 3 PSP trial failed despite encouraging earlier signals. Now studied in ADNP syndrome.
Mechanism of action
Binds tubulin and the end-binding proteins EB1/EB3 to stabilise the microtubule network, reducing tau hyperphosphorylation and preserving axonal transport.
